Write the Prayer and Make it Plain
Back in February 2017, I bought this amazing book by Pastor Lady Leah McNair. 21 Days of Powerful Prayers for Women helped me with many breakthroughs in my own life. As a young woman in Christ, this book taught me the foundation of prayer. It taught me how to make specific prayers and how to make broader prayers for certain times. Before I knew it, I was writing down my own prayers in my spiritual notebooks. This is for two reasons.
I believe when the word says “write the vision and make it plain (Habakkuk 2:2)” that coexist with prayer. I believe God can read the prayers we write to Him.
Sometimes, the spirit must intercede for me. I don’t always have the words to say or I may be too anxious to speak, but I will always write.
I created these prayer cards from one of my many spiritual journals that dates to 2018-2019. I hope they’re able to minister to you, and if you’d like to make and print your own prayer cards, I’ll share the template I made on Canva. Here are some things to keep in mind while you pray:
Follow the ACTS method of prayer. Adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. This allows you to give God gratitude and glory, confess your sins, and make specific request all in one.
Remind God of His word. This allows for the word of God to work in our lives.
Remind yourself of the power you already have. If the word said we have the power to trample over serpents and our faith can move mountains, we can operate in said power.
Come to God with a holy boldness. Having confidence in your prayers will aid in your belief that it will happen.
Remember, it is just a conversation! As you continue to seek relationship with God, prayer gets easier because you realize the importance of quality time with your heavenly father. But don’t forget, it’s a two-way conversation! God will speak to you in return.
